FINE ARTIST
BIOGRAPHY
Influenced by her African childhood, Sharon Butler has had a life-long interest in and love for African and American Indian art, dovetailing with her ongoing fascination with form, design and color. Her love of horses has also been a strong source of inspiration since Sharon was a child, and she often selects that powerful animal as her primary subject.

Sharon works in several mediums, but mostly prefers acrylics because with that she can obtain a ''beaded'' three-dimensional effect, a signature technique for which she is most well-known. She also incorporates leather and other authentic materials in her art to create multi-media illusions which disguise where one medium ends and another begins.
For many years, Sharon lived in Ojai, California, a sublime location from which she drew inspiration and where she passionately perfected her artistic skills. She now lives and works in the beautiful countryside of Emmett, Idaho.
